World Record: Lamborghini LP570 boosts out 2005 HP, beats Nissan GT-R Alpha12+ at Standing Mile
Russia is well known for their unswerving thirst for high speed. This time things get even more surreal. May I introduce to you SMP Racing who put countless hours of blood, sweat and tears into this one of a kind Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera LP1500-4 (LP570). Extension: Underground Racing R2. Upgrading a AWD to not only 1000 hp and above but to a total of 2005 hp is no easy assignment at all. Considering the huge amount of torque produced the drivetrain and gearbox must be replaced and tuned delicately to make for excellent shift times during the standing mile race. Fuel cell + system as well as the entire cooling loop has been reworked as a consequence thereof. Fun thing about all these modification that cost an arm and a leg is the fact that it now fuddles E85 (ethanol fuel) to achieve maximum performance. Pay attention how Russian Vodka cut a figure in this world record attempt. Besides all that the ECU was replaced by Motec hardware and remapped by Altechno, who’s work is outstanding throughout the local tuning scene.
There is a $25.000 bet on the LP570 to break the 22 second barrier by the end of the year. We don’t want to tamp down on excitement, especially seeing the Gallardo Superleggera is pitted against the Nissan GT-R Alpha12+ in the video. This build devasted everything that has been logged and clocked so far. Call it a new world record!
The LP570 hit the one mile distance at a speed of 426,7 KPH/265.2 MPH. Only 21.8 seconds past on the clock till the striking orange car hit the photoelectric barrier.
Only with Russian Vodka!
